About Cat Care Society (https://www.catcaresociety.org/):
"Cat Care Society is a limited admission, non-profit cat shelter located in Lakewood, Colorado. Founded in 1981 to improve the quality of life for cats in need in the Denver metro area, we believe all cats are worthy, regardless of their age or abilities.
Our free-roaming shelter uses cages only when medically necessary, giving cats space to play, lounge, and enjoy outdoor catios when weather permits!
We are committed to partnering with shelters across Colorado, and take in many cats who may not have a chance anywhere else. This includes cats with FIV, FeLV, diabetes or kidney disease. We go the extra mile to provide life-saving care, find loving homes, and educate owners on care requirements for special needs cats.
As a limited-admission shelter, we accept new cats only when we have the space and resources, often with a waiting list. Each year, we lovingly care for over 1,200 cats with veterinary care, premium diet, and human interaction.
We receive no government funding. Alongside our staff and board, we rely on support from loyal volunteers, donors and partners, without whom we could not operate.
A proud community partner, we work closely with other shelters, nonprofits, and individual and corporate partners. We’re active members of the Animal Welfare Association of Colorado, the Association of Animal Welfare Advancement, and the Metro Denver Animal Welfare Alliance."
