Join us for this incredible event

Step back in time for an old-school kickback celebrating the generations that built the foundation of the USF Black Alumni community. Hosted by alumni from the 1960s through the 1980s, guests can enjoy music, dominoes, spades, fellowship, and storytelling while connecting alumni across generations in a fun and engaging atmosphere. This event is made possible through the partnership of Tampa's Black History Museum.

The event's speaker will be 1960s USF student advocate and alumni Imam Askia Muhammad Aquil (Otha Favors) of St. Petersburg. He will share his unique memories as a spokesman for USF's Black students during the Civil Rights era and the death of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Marvelous, with live music by Aris Clark. Refreshments, your favorite table games and an "open mic" session titled "My favorite memories as a student at USF" will be included. For more information contact event coordinator Fred Hearns (USF Class of 1970, 2014) at (813) 545-3183, fhearns@tampabayhistorycenter.org.
