Join the USF Engineering Alumni Society and USF Black Alumni Society for Stampede of Service benefitting Metropolitan Ministries! 

What to Expect: 

As a Mid-Day Volunteer, you will support the Metropolitan Ministries mission by assisting in one of the following areas:   

  • Clothing Warehouse/Thrift Store: Accept donations, sort and choose donated items for our thrift store and Outreach department. 
  • Kitchen: Clean the kitchen, prep, cook, and serve food to our residents and community partners. For ages 12+ only. 

Details/Requirements  

  • The minimum age to volunteer for this shift is 8+ if accompanied by an adult, or 14 without an adult. ​​​​​​
  • Dress Code: Please be sure to wear long pants, closed-toed shoes, and a shirt with sleeves (jeans and short-sleeved t-shirts are great; no tank tops).
  • Parking: You can park in our large parking lot at 120 E Ross Ave, Tampa, FL 33602, or across the street at 2001 N. Florida Ave.  
  • Check-In: Go to the Volunteer Engagement Center located at 120 E Ross Ave near the center of the building with the blue awning.
  • Personal Items: It is best to leave purses and electronics at home or out of sight in your trunk or another secure location while volunteering. 

Metropolitan Ministries care for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in our community through services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity, and instill self-sufficiency.
