Latino Alumni Society & Orlando Alumni Chapter Stampede of Service

Community Smoke Alarm Installation Event

Saturday, January 13, 2024
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
13600 Wesleyan Blvd.
Orlando, FL 32826

Home fires claim seven lives every day, but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. That's why the USF Latino Alumni Society and Orlando Alumni Chapters are rallying volunteers to install FREE smoke alarms, as part of a nationwide "Sound the Alarm" campaign by the American Red Cross. Volunteer with us to visit an at-risk neighborhood in your area. You can help save a life by providing families with fire prevention education, creating an escape plan, and installing FREE smoke alarms in homes that don't have them at all or need a new, working smoke alarm. Come join us!

  • Volunteers must be 13 years of age or older (minors must be accompanied by an adult)
  • Wear comfortable shoes for walking (and your favorite USF shirt!)
  • Bring a personal water bottle (water will also be provided)
  • Please consider wearing a hat or sunscreen

The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors, and partners, is always there in times of need.
