Help us sort, bag, and box frozen food for hungry North Texans in a refrigerated warehouse environment while working cooperatively with other volunteers and staff.
Additional Details: Closed-toe, non-slip shoes are required. Frozen foods may include frozen meat (beef, pork, & poultry). Volunteers will be working in the warehouse, which is 66 degrees. The product that you will be working with is frozen.
Age Requirements: According to safety guidelines, all attendees must be 16 years of age or older.
Attire: Closed-toe, non-slip shoes are required (no sandals or flip flops). Shoes with rubber soles are recommended. We recommend comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in. We recommend bringing winter style gloves to wear since you are handling frozen product. Items that are not appropriate include revealing clothing or dangling accessories. Volunteers who do not wear or bring proper attire will be turned away.
Commitment: Check-in begins for the afternoon shift at 12:30p.m. and orientation will start promptly at 1:00 p.m. We suggest arriving a few minutes prior to your shift to find parking and to check in on the kiosk. Thank you for being on time as we follow an agenda to be as productive as possible. Running late? If you are 10+ minutes late, we cannot guarantee you will be able to volunteer.
Please RSVP below and then follow the sign-up requirements with North Texas Food Bank. You will need to create an account, sign a liability waiver, and then join our team. Please reach out to Alexandra Oliveros (alexandra.oliveros@gmail.com) or Brian Cziraky (cziraky@usf.edu) if you have any questions.
