Pinellas Alumni Chapter Stampede of Service (North County Project)

Service Day at Dunedin Cares Food Pantry

Saturday, January 13, 2024
8:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
1630 Pinehurst Road
Dunedin, Florida 34698

Dunedin Cares serves residents of Dunedin, Clearwater, and Palm Harbor. Their purpose is to reach those in our local communities who are food insecure - where children go to bed hungry, and the elderly are forced to choose between food and needed medications.

USF Alumni volunteers will assist guests in various ways:

  1. Shopper: Walks our guests through the pantry and bags grocery items
  2. Valet: Weight outgoing grocery items and bring them to our guests' vehicles
  3. Greeter: Greets our guests and ensures they have all the required information
  4. Warehouse: Weight in donations, stocks, and supports the store on shopping days
  5. Thrift Store: Assists in giving out food at our pantry pop-up location
  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older.
  • Closed-toe shoes are required.
  • Please dress comfortably for the weather on the event day.
  • Parking is located in the back.
  • Nine total volunteers may participate.

Dunedin Cares: A client-choice food pantry enables guests to choose their food as they would at a grocery store rather than getting bags of food pre-packed for them by pantry staff. Our client-choice method creates an atmosphere of respect, building trust between clients, staff, and volunteers.
