Hosted by Lake Michigan Credit Union

Are you ready to take control of your financial future? Whether you're applying for your first credit card, dreaming of a new car or planning for life after graduation, understanding credit is a game-changer. This workshop is designed to help college students understand how credit works, why it matters and how to build it wisely.

 What You’ll Learn:

  • How credit scores are calculated and what makes a “good” score

  • Ways to start building credit safely

  • Common mistakes to avoid (and how to fix them)

  • How credit impacts renting, buying, job offers and more

Tracy Holt is a premier banker at Lake Michigan Credit Union, bringing over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. She currently leads operations and community engagement at the Temple Terrace Banking Center, where she is recognized for her commitment to empowering individuals and businesses with the knowledge and tools to make confident financial decisions.

Throughout her career, Tracy has been driven by a passion for helping others achieve financial stability and long-term success. Her leadership is grounded in service, education and a deep dedication to community impact.

Tracy is actively involved in the local community, championing financial literacy and supporting economic development initiatives. She is an executive board member for the Temple Terrace Uptown Chamber of Commerce, the treasurer of the Ivy Enrichment Foundation of Tampa Bay and a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated – Gamma Theta Omega Chapter.

A proud alumna of Leadership Tampa Bay (Class of 2021), Tracy continues to give back through volunteer work with organizations including Metropolitan Ministries. She also supports women’s and youth empowerment through her involvement with USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy and serves on the board for the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida’s Camp.

Tracy’s mission is simple yet powerful: to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives —professionally, personally and within the community she proudly serves. She believes financial conversations can be both simple and enjoyable, and she’s passionate about helping others discover that for themselves.
